Well, we’re in. There’s an absolute TON to do but we’re excited about it. First I wanted to show you all some photos now that we’ve got net back.
I was smart & took some pics before we started moving in - which is good because otherwise it would be about a year before I could show you anything at all. lol
Here’s our entry:

and if you turn immediately left you’ll pass through these french doors and be in our sales/meeting room:

Here are a few photos from the sales room:

Straight through our sales room is the shooting room/studio. It’s narrow but like 9′ wide. We may expand that or just move the shooting area to the 2 car garage during the warm months. Or both!

Going the other way off the entry is our family room:

Through that is what we’re going to use as a combo laundry/dining area. We will put up a screen between the two and when we finish the attic, we’ll move the family room upstairs and the dining room back to the real dining room area.

There are two entrances to the kitchen - one is through a walk-through pantry:

There’s another pantry area off the back of the kitchen:

Oh, here’s the actual kitchen!

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. Just for the sake of discussion I’ll start with the one right at the stairs & label them BR1, 2, 3 & 4 clockwise.
The main “hall” of the upstairs is mostly just a common landing:

Here are a couple photos of that unfinished but extremely cool attic:

BR1 is going to be our office/production area. That looked like this:

BR2 is our bedroom. It has a main bedroom area & a large sitting/sunroom that we’re going to turn into a library:

BR3 is the boys’ bedroom. Hardwoods, terrible beige paint…lol

BR4 is Maggie’s bedroom. So far just a blank slate but we have BIG plans for it!

Then we moved our stuff in. What A MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did manage to appliance shop and while our fridge/range/dishwasher are not coming until 12/11/07, we did get our new washer & dryer a day later

That beautiful walk-through pantry - totally blocked off.

And our first new house crisis - the new DOG (yes we got a new house AND new dog at the same time) tore up one of our blinds while we appliance shopped:

Meanwhile a few things started making their way upstairs:

We started to clear a path:

But it’s still piled up in a LOT of places:

I couldn’t help but start on a few projects:

And we solved the dog crisis for now:

Our first major change/reno was the office. If you remember, it looks like this:

Well it did. A little paint, a little tape:

A snowy, snowed in, can’t go anywhere anyways day:

And voila!
